The 2 previous days had been slow and this left me with a long 140km ride into Yinchuan (Capital of Ningxia province). I had been looking forward to visiting this city as it holds a lot of cultural and historic value, well so i'd read.... So, keen to get there I'm up early and on the road. Horror tho, at 6:30 in the morning the same headwind is there and I end up doing only 15 km in the first hour. I do a couple of calculations in my head and at this pace it will take me... a long time to get to Yinchuan. Keep on trucking tho, and, thank the lord, get down into a valley where the wind has completely died down, even turning into a slight tail wind at times. With these new weather conditions on my side the rest of the day becomes 'a piece of piss' as my previous Aussie boss, Webby, would say, or, 'a piece of puss, bro' as Kiwi Matt would say.

Yinchuan is very clean city by chinese standards, however, their only black mark is that none of their accommodation has any available rooms. On my 8th attempt, and about to try the really expensive hotels, eventually find a sweet guest house for cheap cheap. Night time consists of a dinner, a walk around town, and a massage, followed by a deep sleep.
