Make up camp super quick and am off by 7:30. The headwind is a bad sign as I'im wanting to put in a few more kms today. Scenery has changed to a more barren and desolate landscape, just as awesome tho. The sky is blue, fantastic!
Arrive in an surprisingly developed little town (surprising as its not even mentioned on the map) and draw some money which am in dire need of. Eating lunch, I manage to get the resident 5 year old to do the pointing fingers dance, which is, by those of you whom have seen me dance before, the only dance I do. Got a quick video clip of it as proof. Afternoon/evening session is a monster as I try to reach Hohhot (Capital of the Province), take one break which I use to devour tasty biscuits purchased along the way. Eventually get in Hohhot. Spend a great deal of time arguing with the hotel reception to let me leave my bike in my room. Victory is mine as I stow my bike and head out for an expensive and muchly needed dinner. Have a weird experience where the waitress won't leave my side as I try to eat my dinner, making half attempts to discourage her by concentrating on my food I eventually succumb to her conversation. Have I mentioned I haven't spoken a word of english face to face to anyone in the past 5 days... My chinese is getting quite flash. Ask for the doggy bag as I'm not getting any peace at the restaurant. Tomorrow is a a rest day so am not perturbed by spending a few more hours out.
